Rostelecom starts installing smart intercoms with Face ID system

MOSCOW, Dec 23 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom has started installing smart intercoms with facial recognition system Face ID with the first such device set in the Olympic city of Sochi as a pilot project, the company said on Wednesday in a statement.

“The device automatically compares a visitor’s face with the biometric database of residents and opens the door only to those who live in the house. The process of biometric identification takes no more than a second,” the company said.

The smart intercom is a solution of digital ecosystem Rostelecom.Key.
